In Case You Missed It!

MATRIARCH OF MAYHEM – THEY’RE BACKKKKK

BOSTON – In case you missed it, Professor Warren’s Occupy offspring marked April Fool’s Day with a return to their former protest site at Dewey Square, kicking off their spring protests and boasting an even stronger presence in the coming months.

From today’s Boston Herald:

Occupy Boston made a festive return to Dewey Square yesterday with food carts, bongo drums, legal advisers and signs mocking GOP candidates — but no tents or sleeping bags.

“We’re past the point of permanent occupying,” Dave Lenhert told the Herald before he set off, with about 100 others, for the protest group’s April Fools’ Day march through the city’s streets.

“It was a great way to make a splash,” he said of the controversial tent city on the Rose Kennedy Greenway last fall, “but now we’re going to make more pointed statements, by addressing the issues one thing at a time.”

“We’re coming back stronger,” said occupier Shane Aspinall, 26. “A lot of us spent the winter months getting smarter about our movement.”

The 99 percenters carried signs mocking GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. And while they don’t endorse candidates, Democrats including Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren have expressed support for them, which pundits said could be hazardous as the fall elections draw nearer.

Warren has been distancing herself since last fall when she initially declared herself the “intellectual founder” of the Occupy movement, something U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s campaign has been reluctant to let her forget.

“While Elizabeth Warren claims to be the intellectual founder of the Occupy movements, Scott Brown is the independent voice for Massachusetts that he promised to be,” said Alleigh Marre, spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Republican Party. “Scott Brown is not bound to any one group. He looks at each issue on the merits and makes a decision based on the people he represents, not partisan ideologies or radical beliefs.”

Occupy Wall Street Incident Report
One-Stop Source For Updates On The Antics Of Professor Warren’s Intellectual Offspring

BOSTON – As Professor Warren’s disciples get back in the headlines with more disorderly behavior, the Massachusetts Republican Party is re-issuing its “Occupy Wall Street Incident Report” to chronicle the continued escapades of the destructive movement.

Occupy Wall Street ally and Internet hacking organization Anonymous infiltrated the Boston Police Department’s community policing web page this week, disabling what many call an essential crime fighting tool for Boston’s roughest neighborhoods. The hacking group stated that they are seeking retaliation for the eviction of Occupy Wall Street from Dewey Square. An Occupy Wall Street spokesman stated that Occupy Wall Street ‘are fighting for a similar purpose,’ as the hackers who are posting personal information about police officers, outing informants, infiltrating the FBI and attempting to cripple American businesses.

Boston Herald: “Housh said Anonymous bandwidth bandits hit Friday when they took control of BPDnews.com — the police website devoted to community policing — when chatter targeting Boston picked up.

“This Friday could bring even more chaos, he added, as Anonymous has warned they will wreak more wired havoc. …”

“Milton Jones, director of operations at the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute in Dorchester, said the hack has hurt neighborhood groups who rely on BPDnews for updates. ”

Boston Globe: “The hackers said they attacked the police website in retaliation for the department’s response to Occupy Boston, the movement that drew hundreds of protesters to Dewey Square, where they camped out for two months until they were forced off the park last December by Boston police.

“‘There is plenty more mayhem to deliver,’ the group said in a message underneath the video for the song, ‘The Sound of Da Police. …’”

“The FBI is investigating the hacking, as well as similar incidents against other police departments around the country.

“The agency also disclosed yesterday that someone tapped into a conference call last month between FBI agents and British authorities who were investigating Anonymous. That information was recorded and released to the public in an online video.”

AP: “Hackers affiliated with the Anonymous hacking group obtained more than 150 police officers’ personal information from an old website for the West Virginia Chiefs of Police Association and posted it online. …”

“And in Salt Lake City, officials said the personal information of confidential informants and tipsters had been compromised.”

BOSTON – As Professor Warren’s disciples get back in the headlines with more disorderly behavior, the Massachusetts Republican Party is re-issuing its “Occupy Wall Street Incident Report” to chronicle the continued escapades of the destructive movement.

The arrests of 400 protesters for trespassing, vandalism and violence towards police was not enough for Professor Warren’s West Coast devotees – the Oakland Occupiers burned an American flag, driving home a message of destruction and anarchy this weekend. Meanwhile in Washington D.C., Occupiers continue to defy law enforcement officials, refusing to leave a city park.

AP: “Many in the crowd outside Oakland City Hall shouted ‘Burn it! Burn it!’ as masked protesters readied to set fire to an American flag. …

“Moments later, the flames began, and suddenly a movement that seemingly vanished weeks ago was back in the spotlight, this time for an act of protest that has long divided the nation and now the movement itself. …

“The fire-starter is not an anarchist, but a typical member of Occupy Oakland who feels the system has failed them, said Johnson, who pulled out his cellphone to show his recording of the flag-burning. …

“‘We’re burning down the old system and we’re starting a new country.’”

NY Times: “Demonstrators affiliated with the Occupy movement maintained a wary vigil here on Monday as a deadline from the National Park Service for campers to remove their gear or depart from two downtown parks came and went.

“As the noon deadline neared, chanting protesters in McPherson Square dragged an enormous blue tarp emblazoned with “Tent of Dreams” over a statue of Maj. Gen. James B. McPherson at the park’s center. His head and shoulders poked through the apex, along with the ears of the horse he was astride.”

Occupy Wall Street Incident Report

One-Stop Source For Updates On The Antics Of Professor Warren’s Intellectual Offspring

BOSTON – As Professor Warren’s disciples get back in the headlines with more disorderly behavior, the Massachusetts Republican Party is BRINGING BACK A SPECIAL EDITION OF THE “Occupy Wall Street Incident Report.”

Boston’s own Occupiers MADE A TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO DEWEY SQUARE yesterday to show their support for the Oakland Occupy protesters who bombarded police with rocks, pipes and improvised explosive devices as they attempted to seize city property and establish an Occupy headquarters. The Boston Occupiers embraced class warfare and bragged that “they are not going away.” They also antagonized police officers during their march and praised the 400 protesters arrested in Oakland for attacking police and vandalizing Oakland City Hall.

Boston Globe: “‘This is not dying. We are not going away,’ said Danny Manriquez, who stood by a tent he briefly set up on Dewey Square. The 25-year-old from Long Beach, Calif., said he has been traveling to cities that had Occupy sites. ‘Class warfare is what’s going on here,’ he said. …”

“The Boston protesters carried signs that expressed support for the Oakland Occupiers: ‘Occupying is not a crime;’ ‘Occupy Oakland, occupy everything;’ ‘We are Oakland;’ and ‘Stop the brutality.’ …”

“A few protestors, including Bill Lewis, 59, said they noticed that protesters were targeting police more specifically with their taunts.”

LA Times: “In a morning tour of the damaged City Hall, Quan pointed out that a room with a smashed door and toppled soda machine is used for classes for low-income, first-time homeowners. Several flags that had adorned the grand staircase were missing. …”

“Near the door, a more than century-old architectural model of the regal structure was toppled in its case. Oakland’s City Hall was built after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and restored after the 1989 Loma Prieta temblor.”

Chicago Tribune: “Officials surveyed damage Sunday from a volatile Occupy protest that resulted in hundreds of arrests the day before and left the historic City Hall vandalized after demonstrators broke into the building, smashed display cases, cut electrical wires and burned an American flag. …”

“The Occupy action was publicized by the group as a planned takeover of a vacant building that would be ‘repurposed’ as a ‘social center, convergence center and headquarters of the Occupy Oakland movement.’”

CBS News: “Organizers of Occupy Oakland had announced that their intention was to seize an empty building as their new base.” (Click here for the video)

BOSTON – As Professor Warren’s disciples get back in the headlines with more disorderly behavior, the Massachusetts Republican Party is BRINGING BACK A SPECIAL EDITION OF THE “Occupy Wall Street Incident Report.”

This special edition report comes after Occupiers in Oakland broke into City Hall, burning American flags, brandishing metal pipes, even destroying children’s art projects. The chaos kicked off as protesters threw rocks, bottles and burning flares at police, forcing officers to use force to quell the riotous Occupiers.

AP: “About 300 people were arrested Saturday during a chaotic day of Occupy protests that saw demonstrators break into City Hall and burn an American flag, and police fire tear gas and use ‘flash’ grenades to disperse hundreds of people after some in the crowd threw rocks and bottles and tore down fencing outside a convention center.

“It was the most turbulent day of protests since November, when Oakland police forcefully dismantled an Occupy encampment. An exasperated Mayor Jean Quan, who faced heavy criticism for the police action last fall, called on the Occupy movement to ‘stop using Oakland as its playground.’”

“Quan said that at one point, many forced their way into City Hall, where they burned flags, broke into an electrical box and damaged several art structures, including a recycled art exhibit created by children.”

“City Administrator Deanna Santana said protesters pelted officers with bottles, metal pipes, rocks and burning flares and police responded by deploying smoke, tear gas and bean bag rounds.

“‘These demonstrators stated their intention was to provoke officers and engage in illegal activity and that’s exactly what has occurred today,’ Santana said.”
