MassGOP Welcomes Hillary Clinton to Massachusetts

BOSTON -- As Hillary Clinton arrives in Massachusetts for a series of fundraisers on Cape Cod, MassGOP Chairman Kirsten Hughes issued the following statement, welcoming Clinton to the Commonwealth:

"As the American people continue to indicate they don't trust Hillary Clinton, it should come as no surprise that she's facing increasing skepticism even within her own party. With top Massachusetts Democrats like Elizabeth Warren looking more likely to back other candidates, it's clear that Clinton will have to lurch even further to the extreme left just to get through the primary. The reason for her troubles are clear: Clinton represents more of the Washington, DC status quo, and Americans are ready for a change."

Americans don’t find Hillary Clinton to be trustworthy due to her secret email server, and the foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation. (Joseph Curl, "POLL: Hillary Clinton dishonest, untrustworthy," Washington Times, 6/2/15)

Once though to be a lock for the nomination, Clinton now finds herself in trouble as other Democrats gain steam. (John DiStaso, "WMUR/CNN poll: Clinton suddenly in a tight battle with Sanders in NH," WMUR, 6/25/15)

Even Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren looks more likely to campaign for Senator Bernie Sanders than Clinton. "Massachusetts U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren isn’t ruling out joining ultra-liberal Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, saying she’s not surprised at all that the Vermont senator is surging in the polls and drawing enthusiastic Granite State audiences." (Chris Cassidy, "Elizabeth Warren: 'I love what Bernie is talking about,'" Boston Herald, 6/30/15)
