From The Vault: Coakley Defended Decision To Release Jared Remy, Lashed Out At Critics

BOSTON – As Attorney General Martha Coakley prepares to unveil a domestic violence proposal, the MassGOP would like to remind the state’s Top Cop that she vehemently defended the decision to release Jared Remy right before he went on to murder his girlfriend. Coakley didn’t stop there, she even called those who dared to criticize the move to let a serial abuser walk away from authorities “utterly ridiculous.”

“I hope Coakley addresses whether or not she still stands by her vehement defense of the District Attorney’s decision to let serial abuser Jared Remy walk,” said Kirsten Hughes, MassGOP chairman. “While it was disappointing for Coakley to side with letting Remy walk, saying one thing while doing another is par for the course for Coakley as she violated campaign finance laws only to prosecute others for doing the same.”
