BOSTON-- Following the State of the Commonwealth this evening, MassGOP Chairman Kirsten Hughes released the following statement:
"Governor Patrick’s self-serving speech conveniently glossed over the tough realities that Massachusetts is worse off today by many measures then when he took office. The unemployment rate is above the national average and our health care costs are the most expensive in the nation. Taxes have increased by $1.5 billion and budgets have grown by about $7 billion. Massachusetts needs new leaders to take the state in a new direction, away from the numerous failures clouding his legacy and towards a more competitive and balanced Commonwealth."
