MassGOP Statement: State Jobless Rate Still High; Newly Unemployed Greeted by Broken Benefits System Millons Over Budget

Boston - Kirsten Hughes, Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, issued the following statement today in response to yet another month of high unemployment in Massachusetts:

"When Governor Patrick took office, the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent. Now thanks to Democrats’ incessant tax hikes and single party dominance, Massachusetts is stuck for another month with 7.2 percent unemployment. Adding insult to injury, the newly unemployed in Massachusetts are greeted with a mismanaged unemployment benefits system that is years late, riddled with technical problems and millions of dollars over budget. The only way get our state government under control and promote real job creation is for voters to kick the same old Democratic politicians off Beacon Hill in 2014.”
