BOSTON– Last week while Scott Brown was meeting with veterans in Revere, Elizabeth Warren was wooing Hollywood elites during a West Coast fundraising swing. The Harvard Professor made quite an impression on Cher, who is quoted in a front-page story in today’s New York Times saying “she makes an unbelievable impression” and adding “I’m just thrilled every time I can hear the woman speak” during a phone interview from Malibu.

When asked if support from celebrities could hurt the Warren campaign, the singer and actress went on to say,

“How do you bring somebody that good down?”

Yet she added that to counter such criticism, Ms. Warren could “totally say, ‘You know, Cher’s not my idea of someone who should support me.’ ”

“If she had to say that,” Cher said, “I’d say, ‘I don’t care.’ ”

“With their shared left-wing views and elitist attitudes, it’s easy to see why Hollywood celebrities like Cher are thrilled by Professor Warren,” said Alleigh Marre, spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Republican Party. “Unfortunately for Professor Warren, her campaign is not having the same impact on Massachusetts voters who are focused on the issues important to this Commonwealth, like jobs and the economy.”

Cher has spoken glowingly of the Harvard Professor in the past, tweeting last month that “Elizabeth Warren is MY HERO!”
