MA Democrats Embrace Extreme Call to Abolish ICE

BOSTON -- Massachusetts Democrats are embracing the most radical elements of the party's base by calling for the abolition of ICE. With this irresponsible proposal, Democrats like gubernatorial candidate Bob Massie and Sen. Elizabeth Warren are building on the reckless push to make Massachusetts a sanctuary state, and driving their party toward the extreme left.

"Extreme Democrats like Bob Massie and Elizabeth Warren are dead-set on pandering to the most extreme elements of their base with these reckless calls for the abolition of ICE," said MassGOP Chairman Kirsten Hughes. "This irresponsible proposal, and push to make Massachusetts a sanctuary state, shows just how far Democrats are willing to go to appease the ideological left, while abandoning responsible governing and public safety in the process."

A Top Democrat Is Panning The Party's Extreme "Abolish ICE" Strategy

"Top Democrats tell Axios they're worried that a sudden wave of ambitious party members calling for the abolition of ICE — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which is newly controversial because of the detained kids — will make the party look weak on security, a key issue for many swing voters.
"Where the debate is going ... A well-known Democratic strategist told Axios: 'Abolish' alone could be a political disaster...It suggests that Dem concern for undocumented immigrants goes beyond compassion and into irresponsibility."
