BOSTON -- Mayor Setti Warren has been in the race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination for a little over a week, and has still failed to provide concrete information on how he plans to pay for the expensive policy proposals that he has made the cornerstone of his campaign:
- Warren told the Lynn Item “he did not know how much it would cost” to extend the Blue Line.
- He answered broadly and only talked about tax hikes when Boston Magazine asked him how he would pay for free college
- In the same interview, Warren ducked when asked about how much single-payer health care would cost Massachusetts and how he would pay for that as well
"Mayor Warren obviously lacks a basic grasp of public policy and his flippant campaign pledges have no credibility. If he's not going to be serious about his proposals, Massachusetts voters have no reason to take him seriously as a candidate." -MassGOP Executive Director Brian Wynne
